Who we are

EMF Events are a professional power services provider to the events industry.

We take full responsibility for all your event power requirements, ensuring a compliant, safe and reliable temporary power system.

Our approach is focused on planning and designing specifically for each event, following through to competent onsite installation and management.

Working closely with you and your team we aim to deliver a highly successful event.

What we do

As industry professionals we are fully aware of the potential dangers when using electricity within the events environment. EMF uses the following process for complete electrical safety ensuring all required standards are met.

Design

  • Assessment of all onsite power requirements
  • Calculations of requirements to establish what power source is required and associated distribution system.
  • Creation of a plan to show how the system works in a pragmatic way with the site conditions. These plans are the foundation of the site installation and system management.
  • Equipment is then selected to comply with the design.

Installation

  • The design and associated equipment are implemented into the event site or venue.
  • A senior electrical person, which may be a project manager and/or the production electrician, manages the installation of the system.
  • EMF only uses electrically qualified crew for the system installation. We use “local crew” to assist with heavy cable and distribution placement of the equipment only.

Testing & certification

  • Once the installation is complete testing is carried out to ensure verification and system compliance to the design standard.
  • A BS7909 test certificate is filled out which details particulars of the system and the associated test results.
  • This certificate can then be made available to the production company, H&S consultant and / or venue.

Managing Director

Hailing from New Zealand, Matt began his electrical career as a lineman, progressing to an electrician and now currently a power engineer in the UK events industry as of the last 15 years.

Rab Fernandez

Project Manager

A true professional in the events industry, Rab brings many years of experience to EMF as a Project Manager of power installations.

Gary Vockins

Generator Manager

Gary has previously travelled the world working on big power generation projects such as the Summer and Winter Olympics. With the wealth of his experience Gary now heads up the generator department at EMF.

Harry Wright

Warehouse Operations

Harry is the newest member on the EMF team and has settled in quickly. He does a great job in maintaining the kit and providing event support when were onsite.
